Above is an artifact from a course that took curriculum from a REMC project and organized it in Schoology. The course included additional content and activities to transform the resource into a course. The course structure included video tutorials housed in TechSmith Relay (to monitor that participants actually viewed the videos), activities, discussions, projects, and a weekly video conference to bring the participants together. This particular course lasted 10 weeks.
I helped develop the original template and have created online courses for the TRIG Activity EduPaths.org. These courses have been bite-sized and self-paced. The grant required that the courses be instructor free;therefore, the design required the creation of self-checks and assessments that are checked automatically. The courses digital content such as video that I created as well.

I have used a variety of learning management systems to create and teach self-paced, blended, and fully online courses that are both synchronous and asynchronous.
It is imperative that a course designer uses the curriculum as a framework for their course design. Activities must be included that require participants to showcase their learning of the material. Formative assessments must be included to help inform the instructor and summative assessments must be used to determine whether the participant has actually learned the material. These assessments must be informed by the learning outcomes in much the same way that the learning activities determine the mode of instruction. I have created and help other educators create blended and online courses in the following learning management systems:
